This Cypress, TX home came to us for three rooms: the primary bathroom, the primary bedroom and the study. The brief was the same in each. Keep the suburban footprint, take the finish level well past it. In the primary bath, white oak cabinetry runs floor to ceiling on both towers and wraps a quartzite countertop whose grey and amber veining sets the palette for the room. A blue fan-scale mosaic backsplash carries that color up the wall behind a lit mirror, and brass fixtures repeat across the vanity, the freestanding tub filler and the frameless glass shower. A slab-clad half-wall separates the tub from the walk-in shower. The bedroom takes the opposite approach: quiet architecture, one bold gesture.
